The Royal Institution are looking for three PhD students to join their Digital Team for a three-month internship to gain experience of digital media and science communication. These internships will run consecutively from September 2022 to July 2023, with some flexibility around exact start dates.
You will be based at the Royal Institution offices in Mayfair, London. Working closely with all members of the Digital Team, this role will support the Ri’s digital content production and platforms. Depending on the candidate’s interests and experience, we will provide some basic training in audio and video production. A typical day will include: creating science engagement content for our social media platforms, helping film and livestream events, helping manage our YouTube channel and develop our podcasts and working on our social media and digital offering around the world famous CHRISTMAS LECTURES.
This placement is ideal for anyone interested in learning more about digital media and harnessing its’ potential to communicate science to diverse and global audiences.
The opportunity is only open to PhD students who are eligible for an internship as part of their PhD programme and receive a stipend from their Doctoral Training Programme (DTP). Please check with your university/DTP to ensure funding is available before applying.
