Internship details:
The PhD student will work across several projects, to create animations that describe and educate on the MoA of a range of drugs and the MoD of various diseases. They will join our team of PhD scientists who wear several hats as account managers, project managers and medical writers, working with the team across a variety of project types, such as animation, print and interactive, to ensure scientific accuracy as well as delivery of final assets on time to clients, and working closely with the in-house production team of artists along the way.
Day-to-day activities will include:
– Researching background information for new projects
– Drafting scripts – a word document that includes the narration and a description of the visuals
– Referencing scripts (each statement must be backed up by recent legitimate publications)
– Joining client calls to gain live-feedback on scripts, storyboards, videos
– Making script/reference amends as requested by clients
– Researching specific protein structures via the Protein Data Bank and drug molecules via Pubchem, to ensure a high level of scientific accuracy in projects
– Annotating storyboards with client and internal feedback and troubleshooting queries
– Spending time with the Production Director to see the process of modelling various structures within an environment, and how these are then turned into a scene and animated
– Gaining an understanding of the whole project process, from script to voice over recording and delivery of the final video
Random42 can host remote, in-office or hybrid internships. As a digital agency, any of the above works well, however previous interns who have been able to attend the office for part of their internship have been able to form better bonds with the team and become more integrated, and this is recommended going forwards.
