Who it is for
The annual DTP Student Symposium is mandatory for all student year groups.
It is optional for NPIF and CASE students, although you are more than welcome to attend and present if you would like.
All DTP supervisors and co-supervisors are encouraged to attend.
When
The Symposium will be held on Friday 13th December 2019. Registration on the day from 09:00 for a prompt start at 10:00. The event will finish with a drinks reception between 16:35 – 17:45.

Posters
Please remember that all 3rd and 4th years are required to bring a poster detailing their research with them. Please set up your posters during the registration period before the Symposium. Attached are the poster numbers for all 3rd and 4th year students for your convenience.

Coaches
There will be coaches put on from both Leeds and Sheffield Universities, please arrive 15 minutes before the departure time below as coaches will be leaving at those specific times.
From Leeds University – 8.15am departure
Find the coaches in the parking bay next to the Parkinson’s Building Steps, Woodhouse Lane, LS2 9HE
From Sheffield University – 07.45am departure
The coaches will pick up from Durham Road next to the Student’s Union Building, S10 2TN
For the return journey, the coaches will be available to board at 17:45 from the Biology Dept at The University of York.
Car parking
Car parking on the York campus is extremely limited and cannot be guaranteed, although there are more places available now that term has ended. Visitor parking is on a pay and display basis (see the campus map for locations). Parking costs £1 per hour or £6 per day, and is free at weekends and between 6pm and 8am. Visitors can pay using coins or with a mobile phone using Paysmarti. There are accessible parking spaces in all University car parks. The closest car park to Biology is Campus Central, the one near Market Square. Alternatively, look for parking spaces in Campus South. They can only park in car parks marked ‘display/permit’.

Photographer
There will be a photographer in attendance, and cohort photos of students will be taken during the drinks reception. The photos taken throughout the day might be used to promote the DTP on the website/twitter/other promotional streams. Please make it known to one of the symposium organising team if you would not like your photo taken/used in this way.
Refreshments
Refreshments will be provided on arrival and throughout the day, plus a buffet lunch.
Cost
The Symposium is free to attend for DTP students and supervisors.
