My project

I am investigating the role of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in alleviating drought symptoms of crops, using winter wheat as a model. In particular, I am studying the effect that AMF have on the wheat metabolome and how mechanisms of drought tolerance may be coordinated by AMF-mediated changes in wheat hormone profiles. I am supervised by Prof. Duncan Cameron (Sheffield) and Prof. Sue Hartley (York).

I graduated from Sheffield with a degree in Biology with a Modern Language and went on to complete and MRes in the Animal and Plant Science department. I have since been working as a research technician looking at organic phosphorus uptake in wheat with the Plant-Soil-Environment group at Sheffield.
