Masterclasses – summer 2022

DTP masterclasses were a brand new, exciting concept launched in 2021. We are now working on putting together our 2022 programme.

You can attend as many masterclasses as you wish and we encourage you to do so. You are not limited to those events within your field of study. This is a great opportunity to explore ideas within your own field and also to widen your knowledge in other areas. Ultimately, the intention is that all masterclasses are available to all PGRs and supervisors. The masterclasses will be held on-line unless otherwise notified.

There are five clusters which incorporate the broad scientific areas within our DTP. Each cluster is lead by a team of senior academics from each partner university (Leeds, Sheffield and York), who are DTP supervisors. All other DTP supervisors are working alongside the cluster leads to develop the masterclass programme within each cluster and it is very much hoped that PGRs will be involved in shaping the programme in their area of expertise. These are the five clusters:

  1. Development, Disease and Neurobiology
  2. Microbiology
  3. Molecular and Cell Biology
  4. Plant Science
  5. Structural biology/biophysics/chemistry

The full list of supervisors/co-supervisors in each cluster can be downloaded here.

This list will be updated as and when there are any changes. If you are a supervisor/co-supervisor and you feel your research would fit better in a different cluster, please contact Catherine Liddle, DTP Co-ordinator (email: WRDTP@leeds.ac.uk).

Calendar invitations will be sent out as each masterclass is arranged.

Details of all masterclasses are below, together with contact details for the cluster leads so you can get in touch to be involved and/or to offer feedback and ideas at any time.

Note: More information will be added to this page as launch event details are confirmed. PGRs and supervisors will also be alerted to updates via email. The Zoom links to the events will be sent out to everyone via email.
