Outer membrane proteins (OMPs) carry out essential functions involved in bacterial virulence and pathogenicity. OMPs and the chaperones and other proteins essential for their assembly may thus offer routes towards much-needed new anti-bacterial agents. This studentship will investigate how OMPs fold and assemble using a range of structural methods, with the long term goal of providing new fundamental knowledge towards to development of new antimicrobial agents
